Virology Working Group

The mission of the Virology Working Group is to strengthen the interactions between Cancer Center investigators who work in virology and other virologists. The objective of the group is to establish new collaborations and initiate submissions of multi-PI grant applications in this area.

The meetings include presentations from PIs and trainees on new research findings from members studying viral oncogenesis, viral pathogenesis, structural virology, viral replication, viral immunology, viral oncolytics and viral gene therapy.

The core Virology group meets every Friday from 12 to 1 p.m. Additionally, once per month the meeting is expanded to include presentations from more than 50 virology PIs across the UF campus. These expanded meetings are held select Fridays from 3 to 4 p.m. and are followed by an off-campus reception held from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. for all virology PIs and lab members to network in an informal setting.

For more information about the group, please contact Scott Tibbetts, Ph.D., at stibbe@ufl.edu or Stephanie Karst, Ph.D., at karst@ufl.edu.
